There are many ways to approach weight loss. Hire a trainer, join a gym, take drugs, learn a sport, start a diet, buy a fancy machine, see a doctor, go to lunch, walk to work and probably a few more. You have to decide which one works for you, but there are respected people you might want to listen to first. And I mean someone who has spent their life dealing with the issues. I'll introduce you to Tom Venuto a bit later, but for the moment let's talk about the things you need to consider. The most essential question is: What are the facts about diet, exercise and weight loss? There are dozens of fad diets, special exercise regimens and all manner of junk science surrounding the subject. And many opinions on what works and what does not. It's not easy separating them out. Similarly, it is important to find knowledgeable and experienced people who can help you along. If you choose a person who has spent their life learning, practicing and teaching the very things you need to know, you have someone who can help you rather than just sell you a pill or a spring loaded situp machine. Any effective diet and exercise program needs be oriented toward lifestyle changes that will help you lose the weight, keep it off, and keep you healthy and fit. You need to monitor your progress, so you need measure your as you go along. You'll need food charts for measuring calories and types of nutrients. You'll need a body fat caliper to measure how much fat you have and to watch it change. The bathroom scale tells you nothing about how much fat versus muscle is already there. Some of those tools are simple and inexpensive, such as the device that measures body fat percentage. A perfectly good one available on the internet works as well as a laboratory setup. The guy I respect is Tom Venuto, a body builder who has practiced for 23 years, competed for 17 years, written articles for Ironman magazine and spent his life learning, teaching and working in the bodybuilding field. He knows what he is doing. His ebook goes into detail on how and why you need to do it one way and not the other. He provides information based on your body type and where you are, versus where you want to be. He covers everything you need to know to lose weight without drugs, supplements or fancy machines. It's fool proof. It just depends on what you want to see happen. Check out his site Here. It's your health.
